INTERNET BROWSERS AND COMPUTERS

Yell Direct works to continually improve its website by keeping pace with new technology and, more importantly, listening to customer feedback.

We have designed our site, using the most widely recognised internet standards, to be accessible using a wide variety of different browsers and computer types.

If you are experiencing problems using our website, please have a look at the information below regarding browsers and computers to ensure you are using a combination that will give you the best results.

Which computers (sometimes referred to as 'operating systems') can I use?

Yell Direct is fully tested to work with nearly all Microsoft Windows computers (such as Windows XP, Windows NT and Windows 98).

We also ensure our site works with Apple Macintosh computers (such as Mac OSX 10—Tiger, Panther and Jaguar). If you are using a version of Apple operating system older than 10.2 (Jaguar), then we recommend you upgrade to one of the newer operating systems to ensure that you are able to utilise the newer features, products and services continually being developed.

Which internet browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox) can I use?

Yell Direct is designed to work with the latest and most popular internet browsers.

Currently these are Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6 onwards, Safari (for the Apple Macintosh) and Mozilla Firefox 1.3 onwards. We test our site with these browsers because they are the most popular with our customers and, just as importantly, because they provide "128-bit encryption", which effectively means that your connection to us is much more secure.

If you experience problems using a "test" or "beta" browser, then we recommend that you report the issue directly to the company that owns and supports the browser and then return to using the latest live, fully supported version that the company offers on its website.

For your convenience, here are some links to assist in getting the latest version of browsers:

(These links will all open in a new window and will take you directly to other companies' websites.)

If you are having difficulty using the site, please provide us with some feedback to help improve it further.
