How long does it take to create?Creating a basic Site Builder website takes about 30 to 45 minutes. You can save and return to complete your website at any stage. |
What do I get?You get your own unique website consisting of a homepage, contact page (for customers to send you e-mails or telephone you) and a map page (for customers to find you). You can opt to expand your website with up to 10 additional pages. You can amend and update any part of your site online at any time. Included in the package is a Web Link on your own Enhanced Listing on Yell.com. This means Yell.com users will get instant access to your site when they search for businesses on Yell.com. |
How much will it cost?The first year price is only £375 for the standard three-page Site Builder. Each additional page costs £75 per year. In subsequent years you'll only pay £299 to renew your website, regardless of how many pages you have. This includes a Web Link on Yell.com, worth £259. |
What information and content do I need to start?To start off you only need to write about six sentences about your business. You can choose images from our online image library and select keywords from our automatically generated keyword library. You will need an e-mail address if you require this to appear on your contact page. You can add more text, your own images, your company logo, additional contact details and additional pages at any time. |

Can I make changes to my website?You can make amendments or update any part of your site at any time by accessing our online servicing facility on Yell Direct. Alternatively, you can contact our Customer Services team on 01753 507414 to make any changes. |
Can I put my own images on my website?You can upload your own images from your PC (use a scanner to scan and store images on your PC). They can be in any format or any size. Simply drag and drop the image from your PC onto your website in Yell Direct. Site Builder will automatically configure the image to fit on the site. |
What additional pages are available?We have 12 different formats for you to choose from, depending on the information you want to display. They include image gallery pages (ideal for showing off your products), a catalogue page, a frequently asked questions page (like this one), a links page (to link to related sites), a branches page (so you can list other branches of your business), and basic text and text/image pages. |
How much can I personalise my website?Site Builder has been designed to enable you to create your own distinct, customised website for your business. We offer a wide range of template styles, each with a variety of image options. There is a 216 colour palette, with the option to choose primary and secondary colours, a background colour and text colour. You can display your own company logo and images, and describe your particular products and services. Your finished website will be truly unique to your business. |
What is the internet address for my Site Builder?Your Site Builder will have a URL (or internet address) something like http://sitebuilder.yell.com/sb/show.do?id=100835. If you prefer, you can buy a Domain Name from Yell.com such as www.yourcompanyname.co.uk to use for your website at a cost of £40 for two years. This is your own unique internet address, which makes your company look more professional and means you can promote your website more effectively (e.g. on your stationery, on your company van or in your print advertising). |
